MESSAGE FROM JIM STREISEL at JEA:
Electronic device bans are becoming more and more common across the country, and that can put a wrench in the works for journalism staffs who may rely on their devices to take photos, record interviews and more.
The Journalism Education Association is here to help. On Tuesday, Oct. 28, we’re hosting a web meetup for JEA members to discuss the issue. Join JEA members Phillip Caston, CJE, and Clint Smith, who have very different experiences with the bans and will share some ideas and field questions regarding this important topic.
Participation is first-come, first-served, and space is limited to the first 100 participants. Sign up using THIS LINK and, closer to the event, participants will receive an email invitation code to our Zoom Workspace. Non-JEA members? We’re working on a way for you to join as well, so stay tuned.
On a related note, we’re working hard to develop a curriculum newsletter that will more directly reach JEA members who sign up for it. Until then, I appreciate you sharing the information I send in this format. Things may be a bit redundant for a couple of weeks until we get the bugs worked out, so thanks for your patience.
Let me know if you have any questions, and have a great week.
