JEA “supports free and responsible scholastic journalism by providing resources and educational opportunities, by promoting professionalism, by encouraging and rewarding student excellence and teacher achievement, and by fostering an atmosphere which encompasses diversity yet builds unity,” according to its mission. Members have access to a newly created CURRICULUM. - JEA’s Scholastic Press Rights The Panic Button can be used to report censorship of student media; it will bring assistance, advice and support from members of the Journalism Education Association’s Scholastic Press Rights Commission, and, ultimately from the Student Press Law Center.

6. ASNE Youth Journalism The American Society of News Editors web site features a news literacy curriculum, lesson plans, journalism skills, information about workshops and much more.
7. The Student Press Law Center The Student Press Law Center is an advocate for student First Amendment rights, for freedom of online speech, and for open government on campus. The SPLC provides information, training and legal assistance at no charge to student journalists and the educators who work with them.
