8:50 – 10 a.m. – Welcome Session and MJEA High School Journalism Awards (UC Ballroom, University Center)
Welcome celebration and MJEA awards presentation.
10:10 – 11 a.m. – Workshop #1 – “Fake News Game Show” w/ Prof. Dennis Swibold (UC Ballroom)
Is it real or is it fake? Play the game and learn about fake news.
11:10-noon – Workshop Sessions Round 1
Workshop #2 – “Catch the Bad Guys and Save the World!” w/ Prof. Joe Eaton (DAH 004)
Learn simple techniques of investigative reporting from an expert.
Workshop #3 – “The Reporting Gear in Your Pocket” w/ Prof. Ray Fanning & Prof. Jeremy Lurgio (DAH 009)
Learn how to take better photos and video with your smartphone.
Workshop #4 – “In the Beginning” w/ Prof. Jule Banville (DAH 210)
