JEA’s Advisers Institute brings journalism teachers from across the country together for four days of adviser-specific training and networking. The conference will take place July 8-11, at the Ace Hotel New Orleans and will include breakout sessions, hands-on learning activities, certification exams and small-group discussion based on a professional learning community model. In addition, the adviser luncheon will include an address from the 2019 Linda S. Puntney Teacher Inspiration Award winner, Mary Kay Downes, MJE.

The Institute will again feature an all-day Team Storytelling experience for all attendees designed to practice digital media skills in a collaborative setting while exploring a diverse and historic American city.
